Little Egypt Time Trial Series Kick Off

For the past few weeks I’ve been talking to some people about starting a time trial series.  I really like the idea of a race series where individual events reward points towards an overall.  I’ve always thought it would be cool to have something like this in the area.  We have enough local riders, it’s just getting them to come out.  Will they come out?  There is really only one way to know, plan it.  Like in that movie, if you build it they will come.

The idea that seemed to catch on was a traveling series meeting every other Tuesday evening at 5:30.  The entire thing is organized through facebook and located at Little Egypt Time Trial Series.  There is no cost other then an suggest 1 dollar donation per ride.  The donations will be added to a charity pool, the winner of the series will choose a charity to donate the money too.

This is a time trial series, but you don’t need a skin suit and aero helmet to participate.  In fact every other week the course will rotate to gravel to make things more interesting and help minimize the effect of technology.  I may go as far as to source some clip on aerobars though.  There will be categories for men, women and juniors and I’m hoping to keep the event rolling at least through to summer.

A friend told me once that I should do this time trial event and I told them I sucked, he said, you’ll do so good you’ll set a PR on your very first attempt.  Come to Owl Creek Winery March 29th at 5:30 and set your PR!
